“Although they are all composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Juvederm® Voluma™ and Juvéderm® Volux™ are processed in a different way than other Hyaluronic Acid fillers and as a result they have different characteristics. These qualities are suited to placement deeper in the skin. Juvéderm® Voluma™ works particularly well restoring volume and creating lift to the cheeks, while Juvéderm® Volux works well to define the jawline and chin.  Other Hyaluronic Acid Fillers are better suited for filling defined areas, like nasolabial folds and in the hollows below the eyes.”

“Both JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ and JUVÉDERM® VOLUX™ gel fomula contain lidocaine to minimize discomfort so numbing cream is not necessary but can be used if the patient prefers. Because the injections are often deep, the areas may remain sore for a few days after the procedure.”

“This is considered a safe treatment but all fillers are associated with some risk of side effects. Side effects with JUVÉDERM:® VOLUMA™ and JUVÉDERM:® VOLUX™include: temporary injection-site tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps, bumps, bruising pain, redness, discoloration and itching. When these arise they are generally mild to moderate and resolve within a few weeks.”
